WHO'S NEW

Position: Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Department of Theater
Background: Caruso has an M.A. in theater from UCLA and a teaching credential in secondary education in English and drama from Cal State Northridge. She trained professionally in New York under Sanford Meisner, Lee Strasberg and Uta Hagen, and in Los Angeles under Michael Shurtleff and Milton Katesela. She taught high school drama for 10 years in L.A. in addition to teaching many well-known actors such as Drew Barrymore and Milla Jovovich.
Previous position: An actor who just finished performing in a play at the Met Theater in Hollywood, Caruso has taught at UCLA in various capacities and at the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios.
Quote: "I love teaching in the theater department at UCLA because we are given a lot of creative freedom, without which we cannot survive. Art is an ongoing, bold exploration. By painstakingly working the craft, students will gain courage to hurtle themselves through the void and thus learn to fly."
