Susan Baker Ducey joined UCLA in January with a wide-ranging background in marketing, public relations and management. Most recently, she served as vice president of business planning and community development at Daniel Freeman Hospitals. She also managed marketing for Long Beach Memorial Hospital and New England Telephone in Boston. A native of Detroit, she has an S.M. in healthcare management and policy from Harvard and a B.A. in English and biology from Towson University.
What is your favorite film, TV show and type of music?
Film: "Diva." But did anyone catch "Ghost Dog" or "Winter Sleepers" this year? Best Water Cooler TV Show of all time: "L.A. Law." Music: Motown - I know all the words.
Who are your favorite writers?
E. Annie Proulx, especially "The Shipping News," Theodore Levitt of "The Marketing Imagination" and those Budweiser ad copywriters.
