Peggy Tessier

Manager, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Education and Safety for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine

An Air Force “brat,” Tessier was born in Washington, D.C., and moved to several different cities, including Shreveport, La., and South Ruislip, England. She received her B.A. in microbiology from UC Riverside and her M.S. in clinical science from CSU Dominguez Hills. “My first love was the arts, but I feared I couldn’t make a living in those fields,” Tessier said. “So I chose my secondary interest — science.”

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Surviving two teenagers and two marriages. ... Seriously, though, I think it was putting my first husband through eight-and-a-half years of college on a very modest salary and coming out debt-free.

What is your motto?
Life is delicious.

What is your favorite journey?
The journey to a better me and/or the moment you start free fall from 10,000 feet.
