Kathy O'Byrne
Director, UCLA Center for Community Learning
Born and raised in Ohio, O’Byrne is a licensed clinical psychologist
who received her bachelor’s degree from Vassar College, her
master’s degree from Arizona State University and her Ph.D.
from USC, all in psychology. Before arriving at UCLA in August 2001,
O’Byrne was at California State University, Fullerton, where
she was a tenured faculty member and directed service learning and
freshman programs.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Books!
What is the best thing about working at UCLA?
Interacting with intelligent, creative people with vision and lots
of energy.
What is your motto?
Never give up!
If you hadn’t chosen your current occupation, what
would you have chosen?
Music. I was almost a music major. I took piano lessons from age
4 through college. |
