Amy Blum
Associate Campus Counsel
A Los Angeles native, Blum graduated with honors from UC Santa
Cruz, majoring in environmental studies and minoring in political
science. She received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School
of Law, then worked for 15 years as a civil-trial lawyer, specializing
in commercial and intellectual property disputes. She was an equity
partner at Reed Smith Crosby Heafey in downtown Los Angeles and
head of the firm’s Southern California Market Trial Practice
Group. Blum came to UCLA in January.
What is the best thing about working at UCLA?
Working in a beautiful environment with intelligent, friendly people
who are more concerned about doing the right thing than just adding
to the bottom line.
What is your favorite type of music?
I enjoy all music but particularly progressive rock. Peter Gabriel,
U2 and Sting are several of my favorites.
What is your motto?
“Good enough” is not good enough. |
