PATH TO SUCCESS
Campus Human Resources is offering a new series of courses, “Career
Discovery Series — Your Roadmap to Success at UCLA,”
designed to help staff explore ways to find their successful career
path within the university. The first of five workshops in this
series, “Fulfilling Your Career Potential,” will be

INSIDE A MARRIAGE
The UCLA Library is inaugurating the Bonnie Cashin Endowed Lecture
Series April 22 with a talk by novelist, essayist and critic Judith
Freeman. Her free lecture, “The Real Long Goodbye: The Unconventional
Marriage of Raymond and Cissy Chandler,” will begin at 4 p.m.
in the Charles E. Young Research Library Department of Special Collections.

in conjunction with a recent gift from the estate of Cashin, a renowned
American fashion designer. An exhibition, “ ‘Chic Is
Where You Find It’: Selections From the Bonnie Cashin Collection
of Theater, Film and Fashion Design,” is on view in the department

WOMEN LEADERS
On May 10-11, the University of California, San Francisco, Center
for Gender Equity will host “Women Leaders 2004: A Symposium
for Women in University Settings,” featuring some of the most
highly respected and dynamic women leaders in their fields. The
two-day symposium with 18 interactive workshops is focused on assessing
the status of women in academia and on helping participants develop
innovative approaches to the challenges and opportunities facing

HEAR YE, HEAR YE
The annual UCLA Resource Fair hosted by the Purchasing Department
and Staff Assembly gives employees a chance to meet vendors and
learn about their products and services. This year’s fair
will be held April 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Ackerman Grand
Ballroom. Samples and prizes will be given away. The fair helps
support Staff Assembly’s scholarship and awards program and
provides outreach to small, disadvantaged and minority-owned businesses.
