PETRINA LONG

Associate Director of Athletics/Senior Women’s Administrator

Long, who received a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley in 1977 and a master’s degree from Columbia University in 1992, began tutoring athletes at Cal as an undergraduate anthropology major and directed the tutoring program there upon graduation. She served as associate athletic director at UC Irvine for 11 years before coming to UCLA last July.

If you hadn’t chosen your current occupation, what would you have chosen?
Studying and protecting the mountain gorillas or other great apes in the wild.
