WAIVE GOODBYE TO LATE
FEES
UCLA’s Citation Review and Adjudication Office is offering
a one-time-only amnesty on late fees on parking citations. All late
penalties will be waived on outstanding UCLA parking citations if
the citations are paid May 1 through May 31. To find out if you

IN SEARCH OF LIFE
A free May 13 symposium will feature internationally renowned scientists,
including former NASA Administrator Dan Goldin, who will discuss
“Astrobiology: Life Among the Stars.” Participants will
address the search for planets and life beyond Earth’s solar
system, and the latest results from the Mars Rovers. The 16th annual
symposium, sponsored by UCLA’s IGPP Center for the Study of
Evolution and the Origin of Life, will be held in Schoenberg Auditorium
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The symposium is geared for a general audience.

ORTHODONTIC SCREENING
The Orthodontic Clinic at the School of Dentistry is offering free
orthodontic screening during this month only. After April, a $25
screening fee will apply. The clinic is open Mondays through Thursdays.

SMART AND OVER 50
UCLA Extension, one of the nation’s largest providers of
continuing higher education, is launching a program specially designed
to serve the intellectual and cultural needs of adults over 50.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will feature expanded course
offerings and events for members of this growing age group. Charter
members pay a $95 fee, entitling them to two free courses, discounts
on other selected courses and other benefits. The new institute
is among 61 funded nationwide by the Bernard Osher Foundation to
