In Memoriam

Douglas Yale Longshore, 56, associate director and principal investigator at UCLA’s Integrated Substance Abuse Programs and adjunct senior behavioral scientist at the Rand Corp., died Dec. 30 at his Santa Monica home from metastatic melanoma. His research interests included interventions for drug-using criminal offenders and HIV incidence and risk behavior trends among injection drug users. His work on the evaluation of Proposition 36 was recently honored by a proclamation issued by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
