VOL. 26. NO.12 APRIL 11, 2006

SHORT TAKES

UC in 2025

Do you have a perspective on where UC should be going in the next 20 years? An upcoming Web chat will give UC staff members the opportunity to provide input to the “UC 2025” planning process launched by UC President Robert C. Dynes. The electronic exchanges follow similar Web chats offered earlier to UC faculty, alumni and students. Staff members are invited to participate on Tuesday, April 18, from noon to 1 p.m. To join, visit: www.universityofcalifornia.edu/news/uc2025/webchats.html.

Best graduate schools

The April 10 special report by U.S. News & World Report on America's best graduate schools ranks five UCLA schools among the top 15 in the country: the David Geffen School of Medicine, the School of Law, the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies and the Anderson School of Management.

Get in motion

UCLA Recreation is offering new classes in water aerobics and yoga/tai chi to staff and faculty. These classes are free to members, but non-members can participate by paying a $10 entry fee to the facility. The water aerobics class at the North Pool at Kaufman Hall runs noon to 1 p.m. every Wednesday this quarter. There's also a new weekly yoga/tai chi class for health and longevity that runs from April 17 to May 22. For details, go to www.recreation.ucla.edu.
