A macabre marionette spectacle
The stringed cast of Erik Sanko’s "The Fortune Teller" brings to life an Edward-Gorey-meets-Tim-Burton fable for grown-ups. With grizzled papier-mache faces and sinister looks, these 18-inch-tall marionettes play characters representing the seven deadly sins in this darkly comic tale. They convene at a dead millionaire’s Victorian estate to claim their inheritance, just as a mysterious fortune-teller predicted. Oct. 18-28 at the Freud Playhouse.
