Parks, Ridley-Thomas to face off at candidate forum

One of the hottest races on the Los Angeles political scene will be in the spotlight Saturday, May 3, when UCLA partners with the West LA Democratic Club to host a candidate forum that will bring together City Councilman Bernard Parks of the Eighth Council District and State Sen. Mark Ridley-Thomas., D-Los Angeles.

The two candidates are running to represent the 2nd Supervisorial District on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

Everyone is invited to attend the forum at Beethoven Elementary School's auditorium at 3711 Beethoven Street. The forum will be moderated by Kitty Felde, special correspondent for KPCC/NPR.

She will be joined by a panel that will include political analyst Dave Bryan, Associate Dean Bill Parent from the UCLA School of Public Affairs, and Blair Taylor, president and CEO of the Los Angeles Urban League.
