Cotsen Institute names new assistant director

Shauna Mecartea, director of publications and communications for the UCLA Cotsen Institute of Archaeology, has been named acting assistant director of the institute until July 1, when she will assume the role of assistant director.

In this newly created position, Mecartea will be responsible for the overall operation and management of the Cotsen Institute and will supervise the publications and communications enterprise. As assistant director, she will also be responsible for the institute’s program implementation, outreach and development efforts.
