Distinguished Professor Walter Allen named Sudikoff Fellow

Walter Allen, a UCLA Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Education, has been awarded the 2011–12 Fellowship of the Sudikoff Family Institute for Education & New Media, an initiative for the public engagement of Graduate School of Education & Information Studies faculty. 

 

Allen, whose scholarship focuses on racial and ethnic inequality in higher education, economics, health and society, is the 10th recipient of the Sudikoff Fellowship, which provides editorial support and some funding for the development of special communications projects that convey to a lay audience findings from Fellows’ research. Allen has proposed several projects for development during his Sudikoff Fellowship, including producing a website and blog specifically to engage the public in a dialogue on issues related to his work.
