Arts and architecture professor receives AIALA award

Sylvia Lavin, a professor in the School of the Arts and Architecture, has received the American Institution of Architects Los Angeles award for Excellence in Education. Lavin is an architectural critic and historian, and is a professor and former chair of the Department of Architecture and Urban Design. She and the other awards recipients will be honored at the AIA Los Angeles Design Awards on Oct. 21.
