High school students compete for title of the 'brainiest'

High school students who competed at UCLA Jan. 21 in the
Los Angeles Brain Beeare were tested on their knowledge of the brain's anatomy by a member (left) of UCLA’s Interaxon science-outreach student group. Contestants also took written exams and answered "Jeopardy"-style questions to test their neuroscience knowledge. They attended career panel sessions with UCLA professors and graduate students and toured campus neuroscience laboratories. The event was hosted by the Brain Research Institute, among other sponsors. The winner, Anvita Mishra from Granite Bay High School near Sacramento, now gets to compete in the National Brain Bee, held in Maryland.
