Sociology Professor Roger Waldinger, the interim associate vice provost of international studies, was one of a few distinguished senior scholars selected this year by the National Endowment for the Humanities to teach a five‑week, summer 2011 seminar at UCLA for college and university teachers. A grant of $172,445 will cover basic expenses for 16 educators, primarily those teaching U.S. undergraduates, to attend the interdisciplinary seminar on "Rethinking International Migration." Online applications are now open at http://apply.international.ucla.edu/migration/.
